Planning

This is my planning sheet for my final boards, I came to my designs quite quickly so only have one sheet to show. The top right is my 'beauty' board, to show off the best of my product. The bottom right is my board to explain the materials and show all angles of my chair, I have also showed my chair in use though a silhouette.

Final Boards

This is my first final board, due to the restrictions on up loading it isn't as high quality as I would like. But I have the file on my laptop if needed to be printed the file is capable.

Final board 2, is more of a descriptive board. It shows the cover and the side material to give an idea of what it would look like in real life. I have a picture of the chair in use to give an understanding of the scale of the product.

Chair Dimentions

I have included approximate dimensions to help create a sense of scale to the chair.

Chair in Use.

This is my chair in use, the model is relaxed and sitting comfortably.
The chair is a slightly larger than traditional ones, but this will aid the comfort of the product.

Final Chair Render

This i s my final chair design. I have rendered it on Maya, and put a soft fabric texture on to the seat/cushioning to help the feeling of comfort come across.  The solidness of the chair also aims to make the chair feel safe and sturdy. The backrest is curved to fit to shape of the back to aid comfort for the user. The Side material is a wood texture creating a contrast to the soft padding.

I feel that the design works from all angles, creating a form that represents what I wanted for the design.

The size and stature of the chair hopefully will give the user a sense of comfort and ownership of the chair, by not allowing others to sit in it.

The thickness of the chair from the side view aims to create the look and feeling of comfort. The back leg follows on from the back rest to create a long streamlined form.

Foam model

Model no1
This foam model has helped me to visualise what in real life my design will look like. The back leg is still a problem as it still doesn't fit in with my design.

The back rest is curved to provide comfort for the user.

Model No2
I have experimented with the height and width of my second model.

I feel that the taller chair works better as a chair than the shorter one. As the shorter looks more like an arm/sofa type chair.
